What is Sudafed Decongestant Liquid?
Sudafed Decongestant Liquid is an oral decongestant that relieves blocked nose, sinus pressure and catarrh linked to colds, flu, hay fever and sinusitis.
Active ingredient: Pseudoephedrine hydrochloride 30 mg per 5 ml (systemic decongestant).

Do not use if:

You’re allergic to pseudoephedrine or any ingredient

You’re taking or have taken an MAOI (monoamine oxidase inhibitor) in the last 14 days

You have severe hypertension or serious heart disease
Speak to a pharmacist/doctor before use if you have:
High blood pressure, heart disease, diabetes, hyperthyroidism, glaucoma, prostate enlargement/urinary retention, liver/kidney problems, or are pregnant or breastfeeding.
Do not take with other decongestants (oral or nasal) or stimulant cold/flu products.
How to take (oral use)
Shake well. Use the supplied 2.5/5 ml spoon. Leave ≥4 hours between doses. Max 4 doses in 24 hours. Do not exceed the stated dose.

Adults & children 12+ years: 10 ml every 4-6 hours, if needed

Children 6-12 years (only if your pack is licensed for this age): 5 ml every 4-6 hours, if needed

Under 6 years: Do not use
If symptoms persist >5 days (children) or >7 days (adults) or worsen, seek medical advice.
Sudafed Decongestant Liquid Ingredients
Active (per 5 ml): Pseudoephedrine hydrochloride 30 mg.
Other ingredients (typical): Citric acid monohydrate, sucrose or polyols (e.g., maltitol), glycerol, sodium benzoate (E211), methyl hydroxybenzoate (E218), colouring (e.g., Ponceau 4R), flavour (e.g., raspberry), purified water.
Check your pack for the exact list. Contains sodium benzoate and may contain sugars/sugar substitutes.
Sudafed Decongestant Liquid Side Effects
Most people have no problems. Possible effects include:
Headache; difficulty sleeping; nervousness; dizziness; nausea; dry mouth.
Stop and seek medical help if you get: allergic reaction (rash, swelling, wheeze), severe headache/visual changes, chest pain or palpitations, sudden high blood pressure, hallucinations, severe abdominal pain or rectal bleeding.
Report side effects via the MHRA Yellow Card scheme.
