Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between Videne Surgical Scrub and standard hand soap?

Videne Surgical Scrub contains a high-concentration povidone-iodine antiseptic base, providing broad microbial kill and is intended for surgical/clinical disinfection, whereas standard hand soaps are for routine hygiene and not sufficient for pre-operative antisepsis.

Can non-medical personnel purchase Videne Surgical Scrub 7.5%?

This product is typically restricted for professional use only (e.g., medical/dental practitioners) due to its high antiseptic concentration and regulated classification.

How long does the antiseptic effect last?

The residual iodine film offers protection during the surgical procedure; however, re-application may be required based on institutional protocol or longer procedures. Follow the facility’s guidelines.

Is Videne Surgical Scrub suitable for all skin types?

Yes, but if used repeatedly it may cause skin dryness or irritation. Its formulation includes emollients to mitigate skin damage, but users should monitor skin condition.
