Videne Antiseptic Solution is a broad-spectrum antiseptic containing povidone-iodine 10% w/v. It is used to clean, disinfect, and protect the skin or wounds from infection caused by bacteria, viruses, fungi, and spores, including MRSA (Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus Aureus).

Preoperative skin disinfection before surgical procedures

Other ingredients:
Alkyl phenol ether sulphate, glycerol, citric acid, disodium hydrogen phosphate, and purified water.

Do not use Videne Antiseptic Solution if:
You are allergic to iodine or povidone-iodine
You have thyroid disorders (e.g. hyperthyroidism, thyroid nodules)
You have Duhring’s dermatitis herpetiformis
You are pregnant or breastfeeding
You are treating newborn babies or infants under 6 months
You are undergoing or have recently had radioiodine therapy
For external use only.
Avoid contact with eyes, ears, and mucous membranes.
Prolonged use may lead to skin irritation or dryness.
In rare cases, systemic iodine absorption can affect thyroid function – avoid prolonged use over large areas.
If you experience rash, itching, or swelling, discontinue use and consult your doctor.
Store at 5°C–30°C (41°F–86°F) in a cool, dry, and ventilated area
Keep in original container, tightly closed and protected from sunlight

No – it should not be applied directly to open or broken skin unless directed by a healthcare professional.
