Description
What Are Suresign Ovulation Tests?
Suresign Ovulation Tests are rapid, easy-to-use fertility predictor kits designed to help you identify your most fertile days by detecting the luteinising hormone (LH) surge that triggers ovulation.
During each menstrual cycle, one of your ovaries releases a mature egg – known as ovulation. The egg travels through the fallopian tube and must be fertilised within 24 hours for conception to occur.
Just before ovulation, your body releases a surge in LH levels. The Suresign Ovulation Test detects this rise in LH, signalling that ovulation is likely to occur within the next 24-36 hours – the optimal window to try for pregnancy.
How Does the Suresign Ovulation Test Work?
The test uses a lateral flow immunoassay, combining antibodies that specifically detect elevated levels of luteinising hormone in urine.
A positive result indicates that your LH levels have risen sharply – confirming your fertile window and helping you time intercourse for the best chance of conception.

When to Start Testing

Continue testing daily until your LH surge is detected.
Interpreting Your Results
| Test Line | Control Line | Result | Meaning |
|---|---|---|---|
| Test line is as dark or darker than control | Visible | Positive | LH surge detected – ovulation likely in next 24-36 hours |
| Test line lighter than control | Visible | Negative | No LH surge yet – continue daily testing |
| No control line visible | – | Invalid | Repeat test with a new stick |
Tips for Accurate Results
-
Test between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m. for best LH detection.
-
Avoid testing with first-morning urine (LH builds up later in the day).
-
Reduce liquid intake 2 hours before testing.
-
Ovulation may not occur every cycle – consult your GP if LH surges are consistently absent.
