Sebco Scalp Ointment is a targeted treatment designed to soften, loosen and remove stubborn scalp scale caused by conditions such as psoriasis, eczema and severe dandruff. Its effective blend of coconut oil, salicylic acid and sulfur helps reduce itching and irritation, leaving the scalp cleaner, calmer and more comfortable.
Sebco is an ointment which is used in the treatment of skin diseases which cause dry scaly skin on the scalp. These include dandruff, eczema, seborrhoeic dermatitis and psoriasis. It contains coal tar solution, sulphur and salicylic acid in a coconut oil base, which helps to soften and remove the scale when used regularly.
The ingredients for Sebco have been used in the UK for many years, as it is based on an ointment called ‘Unguentum Cocois Co’ which contains ingredients that have been popularly used by dermatologists and doctors for over 70 years. It contains the following active ingredients:
Repeat daily for 3-7 days until scale is brought under control.
Use intermittently as necessary to keep scale under control.
The active ingredients are coal tar 12%, salicylic acid 2% and sulfur for external use 4%.
The other ingredients are coconut oil, white soft paraffin, cetostearyl alcohol, glycerol, liquid paraffin, polyoxymethylene glycerol monostearate, hard paraffin.
It is used to soften, loosen and remove thick, scaly patches on the scalp associated with psoriasis, seborrhoeic dermatitis and similar conditions.
Typically around 1 hour, unless your healthcare professional recommends a different duration.
By removing scales and conditioning the scalp, it may help reduce discomfort, though it is primarily formulated for scale removal.
Coal tar can cause staining; take care to protect clothing and rinse the scalp thoroughly after treatment.
