Panadol Extra Soluble Tablets offer fast, convenient relief, dissolving quickly in water to release 500 mg paracetamol and 65 mg caffeine. This powerful combination delivers more effective pain relief than standard paracetamol alone .
Effervescent for easy absorption, they’re ideal for relieving:
Headaches (including migraine)
Backache and muscular/rheumatic pain
Toothache and dental discomfort
Period pain
Sore throat
Cold, flu symptoms and fever.
Thanks to the added caffeine, these tablets also support mental alertness while easing discomfort.
Adults & teens (16+): Dissolve 2 tablets in half a tumbler of water and drink every 4–6 hours, as needed. Maximum 8 tablets in 24 hours.
Teens (12–15 years): Dissolve 1 tablet in water every 4–6 hours, as needed. Maximum 4 tablets in 24 hours.
Not for children under 12 years.
Do not exceed 3 days’ use without consulting a GP or pharmacist.
Always use the lowest effective dose, taking care to space doses at least 4 hours apart.
Do not use alongside other paracetamol-containing products — risk of overdose.
Due to caffeine, avoid excessive intake from coffee, tea, energy drinks, or other medicines. Side effects may include insomnia, palpitations, restlessness, or nervousness.
Consult a GP or pharmacist before use if you:
Have liver or kidney disease, malnutrition, are underweight, or have chronic alcohol use
Are on a low-sodium diet (427 mg sodium/tablet) or suffer sugar intolerances
Are pregnant or breastfeeding (avoid due to caffeine)
Are taking medications like flucloxacillin, anticoagulants, lithium, or certain anti-nausea or cholesterol drugs due to interaction risks.
Seek medical advice if symptoms worsen or do not improve after 3 days.
Common side effects may include nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, constipation, dizziness, insomnia, restlessness, palpitations or anxiety (mostly due to caffeine) .
Serious but rare side effects include:
Severe allergic reactions (rash, swelling, breathing difficulty)
Liver damage signs (yellowing skin/eyes, dark urine, upper abdominal pain)
Metabolic acidosis, especially when used long-term in severe illness .
Severe skin reactions (Stevens–Johnson syndrome, toxic epidermal necrolysis).
If you experience serious side effects, discontinue use and seek medical attention immediately.
To report adverse reactions, use the Yellow Card Scheme via the MHRA.
