What Is Moviprep Original?

Moviprep Sachets are a lemon-flavoured bowel cleansing solution supplied as four sachets (two Sachet A and two Sachet B). All four sachets are required for a complete treatment. Moviprep is used in adults to empty the bowel before medical examinations, such as colonoscopy. Because the medicine clears bowel contents rapidly, you should expect watery stools and frequent bowel movements shortly after taking it.

Warnings and Precautions

Before taking Moviprep, speak to your doctor or pharmacist if you have:

• Difficulty swallowing or a tendency to regurgitate food or drink

• Kidney disease

• Heart conditions, including high blood pressure, heart failure or irregular heartbeat

• Thyroid disease

• Inflammatory bowel disease, including Crohn’s disease or ulcerative colitis

Moviprep must not be given to anyone with impaired consciousness unless under medical supervision.

Seek urgent medical advice if you develop sudden abdominal pain or rectal bleeding while taking Moviprep.

Moviprep Side Effects

• Abdominal pain or bloating

• Nausea

• Tiredness

• Soreness of the anus

• Feeling generally unwell

• Fever

• Hunger

• Sleep disturbance

• Dizziness or headache

• Vomiting

• Indigestion

• Thirst

• Chills

Uncommon (up to 1 in 100 people):

• Difficulty swallowing

• Temporary liver function changes

Frequency not known:

• Flatulence

• Temporary increase in blood pressure

• Irregular heartbeat

• Dehydration

• Very low sodium levels

• Electrolyte imbalance

Most of these effects resolve once treatment ends.

• Sodium sulfate – 7.5 g

• Sodium chloride – 2.691 g

• Potassium chloride – 1.015 g

Sachet B Active Ingredients:

• Ascorbic acid – 4.7 g

• Sodium ascorbate – 5.9 g

Other Ingredients:

Lemon flavouring (maltodextrin, citral, lemon oil, lime oil, xanthan gum, vitamin E), aspartame (E951), acesulfame potassium (E950).
