The key ingredient, guaifenesin (50mg per 5ml), works by:

Do not use Lemsip Cough Chesty Syrup if:
You are allergic to guaifenesin or any of the other ingredients
You are under 12 years old

You suffer from asthma, chronic cough, or excessive mucus production

Recommended Dose:
Adults and children aged 12 years and over:
Take 10–20ml (2-4 x 5ml spoonfuls) three to four times daily.
Rinse the measuring cup thoroughly after use.
Do not exceed the stated dose.
If your symptoms do not improve after 7 days or worsen, consult your doctor or pharmacist.
While using Lemsip Cough Chesty Syrup, you can also support recovery by:
Getting plenty of rest
Drinking lots of fluids to help loosen mucus
Avoiding smoke or dusty environments
Using a humidifier to keep airways moist

Chest pain or difficulty breathing

Stop taking this medicine and seek medical help immediately if you experience:
Difficulty breathing or swelling of the face, lips, or throat
Skin rash or itching (signs of an allergic reaction)
Other possible side effects (rare):
Mild nausea or stomach discomfort
