Canesten Thrush Soft Gel Pessary 500mg is a single-dose antifungal treatment used to clear vaginal thrush (candida infection).
It contains clotrimazole, an azole antifungal medicine that kills Candida albicans – the yeast responsible for thrush.
The soft gel pessary is designed for comfort and easy insertion, dissolving overnight to relieve itching, soreness, and discharge at the source of infection.

The active ingredient clotrimazole destroys the cell membrane of Candida yeast, stopping its growth and killing the fungus.
Inserted directly into the vagina, the soft gel pessary dissolves gradually to release the medication at the infection site, ensuring targeted antifungal action where it’s needed most.
Most women experience improvement within a few days of treatment.
Suitable for:
Women aged 16-60 who have been diagnosed with thrush before
Those experiencing typical thrush symptoms, including itching, soreness, and discharge
Do not use if:
You are allergic to clotrimazole or any ingredients listed below
You have fever, abdominal pain, foul-smelling discharge, ulcers, or irregular bleeding – these may indicate another condition
You are under 16 or over 60 without medical advice
You are pregnant – use only under the supervision of your GP or midwife
Wash your hands before and after use.
Remove the applicator from the packaging and pull out the plunger until it stops.
Remove the pessary from the blister and place it firmly into the applicator.
Lie on your back with your knees bent and insert the applicator gently into the vagina.
Slowly press the plunger to release the pessary, then remove and dispose of the applicator safely.
Use the pessary at bedtime for best results. The capsule will dissolve overnight and begin treating the infection immediately.
Active ingredient: Clotrimazole 500mg
Other ingredients: White soft paraffin, liquid paraffin, gelatin, glycerol, purified water, titanium dioxide (E171), quinoline yellow (E104), sunset yellow (E110), lecithin, and medium-chain triglycerides.
Free from parabens and perfumes.
For vaginal use only – do not swallow.
Avoid use during menstruation.
Do not use tampons, intravaginal douches, spermicides, or other vaginal products while using this medication.
Avoid sexual intercourse until symptoms have cleared.
Mild burning or irritation may occur temporarily.
Stop using and seek medical advice if you experience:
Allergic reactions (rash, swelling, breathing difficulty)
Persistent pain or new discharge
Itching, redness, or irritation that worsens
